London folk - parking advice

I'm looking for some advice on where I can park my car safely for a week in London. I'm regularly down in central London for training, but I usually get the train. However, in April I'm going to London and then I'm going to Cornwall for my sister-in-law's wedding, so I'm planning to drive to London and then drive directly to Cornwall from there.

So... Can anyone suggest somewhere to park? I'm thinking of parking somewhere out on the West side of London and then getting the tube in and staying in the centre of town in the usual way. A friend suggested some suburb where I could park on the street, but I'd rather park somewhere more secure if at all possible. I'm prepared to pay, but not a huge amount.

Any thoughts?

Heathrow. Loads of secure parking and it puts you right on the M3 to get down to Cornwall without having to cross London by car.

Problem is that secure parking is going to cost at least £10 per day. When I go to the rugby I use a secure multistory in Feltham, next to the train station, but that's still a tenner.

There's your problem. Unless you park in a residential area with no residential restrictions (i.e. permits) then you're going to have to pay £10-£20 a day, depending on how central you want to be. :o

i live in camden but work in southgate, and my home away from home is hemel hempstead - so i often take the car to work and leave it for weeks at a time whilst I live in camden.

I take the car so if i want to go home for cheap, i can just travel to southgate and drive from there.

I've left my car there for 3 weeks and had no problems with it whatsoever, so southgate residential offstreet parking is my suggested spot!

I park outside a private hospital/caring home and there are houses opposite with motion sensor lights so i'm pretty sure it's quite safe and it's not intruding on someone elses space either.

quite a safe area really!

where in central london will you be? heathrows quite far out and for £15 per 24 hours you can park in Central London or you can park outside my flat for free! its quite safe, people leave there RR etc outside.
