Google Street View active in the UK

Thats well cool, just had a look at my own street and could see my house with my garage door open and my brothers VW R32 sitting inside it lol:p.
 
haha this is amazing :) i can see all the places i visited in amsterdam, can see friends houses but not in my area yet :(

If they get everything done properly, it could help people doing the "knowledge" as well I'd guess (to some extent).

I think this is great, I've been planning on visiting York for ages, now I can have a wander around and plan what I want to see before I go there, therefore cutting out unimportant stuff :)

You could do this through going there yourself I cant believe there's so many nay sayers saying its invading their privacy on the news!

I can sort of see their point. If someone dodgy came down our cul de sac and started looking at all the houses for a period of time then it would look suspicious. Some of the places I've seen on streetview go down access roads with garages etc. If someone was driving around looking for something like that to rob then it would look a lot more suspicious than just looking around on streetview.

I certainly won't be removing my house though.
