Anyone interested in the UT3 Titan patch ? (PC & PS3 only)

Well I got sick and tired of trying to get the Steam version to work properly and so I guess I am going back to the Retail version for a bit.

Now I'm getting BSOD due to my graphics drivers when funnily enough, the game was running perfectly fine moments before. Think I may as well just stay on 180.48 drivers for good since this game has major issues from the past few Nvidia driver releases.

Hopefully PS3 users won't have as much trouble as the PC version once they finally get the patch and Titan pack. Its getting really stupid now.
 
Just played ut3 just after playing 2k4 and now I understand what people say when its consolified.

Movements feel much slower, double jumps are not as high and powerful :(. Standard assault rifles are absolute crap in ut3, in 2k4 dual wielding em still kills stuff :). And my main annoyance is the rockets, they are overpowered in ut3, combined with the slower movements it's just lame. Minigun isn't as good as it used to either... Rockets in 2k4 are just about right.

Also, I still miss maps like CTF_face_classic, DM_Morpheus3, DM_Rankin, etc...
Also I quite miss the bombing run, thought it was quite funny to play in 2k4 :).
ONS_Torlan also somehow feels completely different in UT3 compared to 2k4...

Movement in ut3 is more like that original, not changed for consoles. Assualt rifles? if you mean the Enforcer then dual weilding then is really good, maybe your not hitting your target :p Rockets are fine, only over powered if you get a direct hit, which is how it should be imo. Oh and ctf face is in there
 
Hmmm you are correct, I can't recall direct hits killing people though with the rockets...
Me I haven't really played ut goty more than half an hour so I don't know about the movement on there, all I can say is I prefer the movement from ut2k4 and ut3 in places feels terribly slow...

Now however I can get used to ut3 on a familiar map, the face map looks much better than their recreation of torlan, which feels completely different.
 
movement is actually faster in ut3 aswell. Bigger maps or the lack of double dodge may make it feel slower to you but play some dm and you are flying about :)
 
The base gamespeed of UT3 is faster, it just feels slower because it is more planted thanks to having some actual mavity :p
 
Had a massive LAN party at work in March and we didnt even consider UT3, we all got 2004 instead. I was gutted when i played UT3 because the game play is slow to the point were you get killed and its a chore to get all the way back again. Not played in a year so no idea what the new maps are like. The servers are good though, unlike Lfd which has the s*$^(6 servers in the world.
 
I bought UT3 on its release and it was a huge disapointment... After reinstalling to check out v2.0 im well impressed, runs really well and the settings are a lot more detailed.

I would keep playing but the severe lack of community and full servers is off putting.

Can anyone suggest some decent servers? As the only ones ive been in are empty or they only have a couple of people in.
