The Google car...

Surely they're blurred? Mine is.
There a quite a few numberplates (and faces) that they've forgotten to blur out.

My concern with the whole thing is that google isn't just some random passerby walking past, they are a commercial company taking pictures of my garden and through my windows and making them publicly available to the world. As a commerical company their are legal requirements on what private information they collect and what they do with it.

Not helped by them being arrogant and disingenious in pretending they don't understand what the fuss is about, and insisting they have the right to take pictures even when people ask them not too (e.g the Boring legal case)

How is that different from google maps satellite view? You can see far more what is in your garden and who has a bigger swimming pool...

Personally I don't understand what the fuss is about either. Anyone with a camera could do the same and you would be able to do bugger all about that.

They aren't taking pictures "through your windows".

...and at a much higher resolution as well, so people should quit their moaning.

I know a few people from over here who wouldnt like their number plates on show considering our past;)

The same number plates that hundreds of people see everytime you drive your car?

I don't understand this irrational paranoia when it comes to protecting this 'privacy'... despite these private things being visible to literally anyone.

I met the google car down a back lane one day when I was on the tractor, I backed up the road to let him pass..

Its still not gone live though :( , That was roughly 11 months ago at a guess.
