We were 16 at the time though, and I hope Fox was of a similar age when he took her there

I went to the student union bar, reason was 3 fold

1 - Cheap
2 - Close to us
3 - Footy match was on (it was a sunday afternoon), thought to myself, if the date tanked, at least i can get to watch the game.

Then took her back to my place and i cooked pasta for us.

Went out with her for 6 months.

never do chinese on a first date unless you know the restaurant and it's not the usual greasy stuff you get in 95% of places.

I know, it's amusing but I have absolutely no problems admitting to it because it did the trick and as a result I'm now 2.5 years into an absolutely amazing relationship I'd give up anything for.

Had she never wanted to speak to me ever again after the cheapskate pizza hut scenario then it would have been a different story, but it didn't pan out like that, she liked me for who I am (Which I know is pretty staggering ) not whether I was going to spend loads of money on stuff or not.
