Resident Evil 5.

I hate to say it, but it really is.

I have been a hardcore fan of the resi games for a while now, played all of them (bar the crap outbreak and gun survivor ones) and love them to death.

Now when resi 4 came out I was a bit - what the **** , but it was actually a really good game, and had tonnes of fun playing it. The only thing that I didnt like about it was the story line. Was just crap. One of my favorite things about the resi series is how the story unfolds, and how it basically makes you go  .

But, I thought that the resi 4 storyline was something to bridge it to the next one, with the las plagas thing being something that will make a super super virus (basically zombies but with the intelligence of the ganados) BUT NOOOOOOOO! They had to do that uroboros thing and it just worked out crap in my opinion.

Rant over, but even though the gameplay was solid, the other things let me down somewhat. :)

My only disappointment for Resident Evil 5 is Albert Wesker. I won't spoil it for people who have not completed the game yet, but all I will say is that after all the time he has been making appearances through the Resident Evil games, is this really it?

Onto the final chapter and have really enjoyed it! I think the story line has been great and it was good to see Jill make an appearance!

I loved the Resi series but found Resi 4 to be the most over rated game of all time, just couldn't get into, crap.

Played the demo for 5 and very unimpressed. First resi game I've noit bought on release day and I doubt I'll ever bother with it tbh...

Everyone knows Dead Space is the new daddy of the survival horror genre anyway. ;)

For blood, guns, scary monsters and action, Dead Space certainly has stolen the spot from the Resident Evil games in terms of a modern game in the genre.

But overall, my personal pick is the Fatal Frame series. Thats what I would call true survival horror there. Ghosts>Scary monsters anyday.

As a single player game, I'm not really that impressed with it.

I've been playing the whole thing coop with a mate and it's a whole different story - it really is a lot of fun :)

I wished the campaign mode on Call of duty 4 and 5 was a bit longer, finished them quite quickly :(

Did you read the "Resident Evil" part :p?

But I am quite enjoying this game, It does not deserve any link to Resident Evil, but if you look at it as a new type of game then it is quite fun!

The only Resident Evil game in the series i liked was 4, great game, didn't care much for the rest, so i love 5, awesome game, as it's much the same as 5 with a HD makeover.
Dead space? Bored me rigid, gimme resident evil 5 anytime.

You clearly just don't like survival horror as a genre then. A large amount of disappointment surrounding Resi 5 is the fact that it's moved even further away from its survival horror roots leaving only Dead Space as a real alternative.

Big disappointment for me too, at points it seriously feels like I'm playing Army of Two and not a resident evil game.

I just can't can help but wonder what'd we'd be playing now if Shinji Mikami was still on board

re 1 and 2 were good for its time, but code veronica was something special, didnt really get into 4 although i tried, probably will get into 5 soon - its just sitting there on the desk calling at me :p

Veronica was good, but the game was made artificially longer by so much damn backtracking. It was obscene!

That's why 4 was a step in the right direction. No more 'chore gameplay'.

well I cant remember it now but yes it was definably a looong game, it was back in the dreamcast days, I can remember enjoyed played it though, me and e36adz use to challenge seeing who could complete it 1st, but couldn't compete with his 10hrs+ sessions :p
