hdmi audio on crysis

i have an hdmi port i use for audio, it works on youtube and games etc

only thing it doesn't work for is crysis

any ideas how i can fix this (for some reason to listen to crysis i need to plug in headphones to pc, or speakers)

Control Panel -> Sound -> Set default (After choosing the device you want as default)

yes its always been default

Strange that everything else except Crysis works, I haven't had it installed for a while but are there options for 5.1/2 channels and EAX type effects? Could be something there.

i've heard something about a microsoft uaa hdmi audio driver, the game also doesn't work on bioshock so im guessing its just the games for windows games that are having this issue

if you know where i can get the uaa hdmi audio driver please give a link to me

Is the HDMI onboard or on a card.

i have an ati 4870 oc edition, usin dvi to hdmi adapter

it is recognised as my sony bravia so it knows its hdmi, and it only works for non windows games

Hum, same card here and no problems.
Which HDMI drives are you using?
Sounds like your just using the default crappy windows ones maybe.
Try the new catalyst 9.3's as they now have the HDMI driver as part of them.

no i have the latest driver

wierd thing is the crysis editor works fine

Tried turning the acceleration down to basic, its what i had to do to get sound in Crysis.
