How much to spend

I need a new suit, I don't want to spend huge amounts of money but I'd like it to be of fairly decent quality.

So how much should I be looking to spend? Also where do you guys recommend that's not stupidly expensive?

I got one from Topman, cost about £150 for suit, shirt & tie. That was cheap, suit before that was a ted baker which cost me £600, and in my eyes the Topman fits better and looks better!

A good place to look is a fashion outlet place, usually have some suit places selling £300 - £400 suits off for £50 - £100. But I cant reccomend Topman suits enough.

House of Fraser are doing suit, shirt and tie for £99 - some nice ones there too

Certainly shop about! I wear suits everyday and am very picky about what I buy, the difference between a "good" suit that fits well compared to some cheap rubbish is night and day... A quality suit will last you a good while...

Moss Bros had a big sale on recently (not sure if it still is) picked up a £300 suit for £49

That reminds me a while back one of the directors of Top Man mistakenly said "the only people that buy suits from Top Man are people that are due in court" or words to that effect

Have a look at Suits Plus in The Galleries.

Some of the cheaper suits are....well cheap, but if you go for one of the more

expensive ones you can get a cracker for about a ton.

Try the £100 a year approach, if you reckon a suit will last you 3 years, spend £300.

Went to Moss Bross in the end, had some pretty good deals in there including the one I got which was marked down from £499 to £150. Bargain! No shirt or tie included but I've already got plenty of those
