Will Newcastle still be a big club when they are relegated?

If they go down I'll bet money on them showing up in League 1 before they do the Premiership again

Some of the best games I attended as a kid were Wolves V Newcastle

A game of who would score the most out of Steve Bull and Mickey Quinn :D

Yes, they will - if they are now.

I doubt their attendances will drop much. That's all they have that says they're a big club.

I don't think it will make too much of a difference providing the supporters stay loyal which I believe they will. Also prices might be reduced so no chance of attendances dropping in that case.

I would imagine that they would come straight back up to the Premiership IF they could hold on to the core of the squad.

Which they wont, if they go down then Owen, Martins, Taylor, Coloccini, Bassong & Beye are all certs to go

They might keep hold of Butt, Duff and Ameobi but that's about it

Why? they have contracts with the club, they cant go anywhere.

I understand where your coming from tho, it annoys me so much that players feel like they can go when they want. They got Newcastle into the ****, they can get them out. Thats what i would be telling them if i was manager! :p

No swearing

The attendances will stay the same, King Kev will come back top the championship by 20 points and get them back in the premiership. Lose the first 5 games in the premier league then quit due to conflict with owner.

Thats actually a 99.9% certainty if they do go down.

Michael Owen has been free to talk to other clubs for a couple of months now and his contract expires in the summer. I can't see him being persuaded to stay at a Championship side, especially if he has aspirations of getting back into the England squad. Being a free transfer he should be able to pocket himself a fairly hefty signing on fee / wage at another club I would have thought so there's no reason for him to stay at SJP.
