Been wactching family guy on dvd. Can the family hear what Stewi say's?

In my mind, there is no real answer. Sometimes they can hear him, sometimes not depends on the gag/scenario seemingly.

Lois never seems to understand him though.

I think its a case of they hear him, but kind of chose to hear what they want to hear rather than what he actually says.

Only Brian really talks to him. Good job too, their relationship is the most interesting one on that series.

Everybody can apart from Louis, or the family when Louis is around. He never really seems to have a consistant universe though..

They all can, there was an episode with a panic room where they discussed the Godfather and they made reference to what he was saying.

Brian and Stewie have a conversation about it when they go to see Loretta (Cleveland's ex wife) they discuss whether her character is far enough from the main family to be able to understand him. As it happens, she is.

I don't think anyone directly talks to Stewie though, so that's the main argument for the "nobody but Brian can understand him" camp.
