Google Street View active in the UK

The issue for me is the height from which the photo's were taken, for a person on my street to get a similar view into my house then they would need to climb a step lader and point a camera into my house, which believe it or not is a breach of privacy. Google should only be allowed to turn street view on once they have retaken all the pictures from no more that 6ft up

other people would then have to say well i live on the ground floor etc .... and they should be higher ? I cant see anyone wanting to spy on you its not like its real time ?

The people complaining and lodging complaints about this application are part of the reason why the rest of the ****ing World think we're a laughing stock.

Bingo! Sad thing is the usual small minority are taken seriously and spoil it for everyone else. There was what, 200 complaints? Now how many different people do you reckon there are on streetview? Thousands, hundreds of thousands? Now im no mathemetician (or engrish teacher) but cant these 200 boring people just ask Google to remove the pics instead of crying to the ICO over a non-issue?

Funny, I've not heard anyone from another country saying we are a laughing stock for this. You don't half come out with some daft comments sometimes, maybe you should travel a bit and start actually seeing other parts of the world rather than making assumptions all the time.

Travel a bit? I've done more travelling in my life than you could possibly imagine. So, before you start judging and getting on that highest of horses you seem to keep, think a little first.

Just for you information though, I didn't say this alone made us a laughing stock did I? I said that this is part of what makes us a laughing stock, and if you'd bothered to look, people actually agreed with me.

That looks more like a dog than a ghost. More than a dog though, it looks like a random reflection.

Wonder how long it will take for the whole of the uk to be captured.

me too although i read somewhere they are now doing the "countryside".

They missed out half my town (touch west of Glasgow) :(

My parents house is not in it.

Still they haven't even done any of Belgium yet lol probably still trying to find it on google earth

If you zoom right out on google maps so the majority of the UK is in the map, then drag the little man across, you can see all the parts they've covered so far. Not a lot really, they've missed the whole of the south west :p

Not to mention the entire swathe of the Midlands in-between Manchester and Birmingham, including The Potteries. :(
