I don't burp unless I've had carbonated drinks which i haven't had in 2/3 years now.
Fizzy drinks fail.
I've just sat here and read the first 10-15 posts, with everybody explaining their burping preference. I then realised I'm a little dumber as a result, and have wasted five minutes of my time reading about something that will have no bearing or aid my life in any way.
So I pose a question to you OP - why do you feel the need to ask?
Some of the crap threads that have been going around where people offer up one sentence replies are, well, crap by their very nature. Who cares what preference people have when it comes to their favourite soft drink, how they wipe their bum, what is their favourite cheese etc.
I know this is General Discussion, and people are allowed to discuss what they like, but where is the discussion involved in merely stating your preference for something. It is not interesting conversation.
And yes, before you all say it, "if you don't like it don't post, press your back button instead" - but it's more confusion mixed with curiosity trying to understand why people would ever find this kind of dross interesting, and indeed waste their time posting how they burp.
Would this sort of thing happen in real life?
Husband: "Hi sweetheart, you'll never guess what, Mark from work told me that he likes to burp loudly in front of his wife to show he's the alpha male, but in front of his mum he likes to keep it silent! Har har har!"
Wife: "Oh hunny, I simply wish I'd been there when he said that! It sounds like such a larf! Har har hee hee"
Husband: "Oh it was dear. And would you believe it, he only admitted that he preferred Pepsi to Coke - I was in shock!"
Wife: "Nooo! Never! Honestly, you and Mark always have the most stimulating preference stating conversations!"
Let's state how we all burp? Is there really nothing more interesting to discuss?

I'm sorry mate, it's just you who doesn't want to talk about it, if you want to talk about politics and the economy, a load of complex depressing issues then feel free but me, i find it hard to be depressed about shallow topics like burping and my favourite kind of beer.I've just sat here and read the first 10-15 posts, with everybody explaining their burping preference. As a sidenote, that's a closing bbtag, so you're now no longer awaiting a flaming.
I can only speak for myself, but if I had anything better to do than talk about belching at this particular moment I wouldn't be in GD.

Burping loud aint about being alpha though is it, it's about being funny.
Farting loud is even better, especially if you stand up and do it right next to someones head.
Notice anything?

Depends on company. With strangers, clients, or people I am trying to be polite around, I'll hide it. Else I will exaggerate it, with pride.
