Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Using a stick is the best... ONLY after you have practiced with it for afew months. It does take awhile to get used to it even tho you have had it for afew weeks, once you have cracked it 100% its perfect.

I still think since the new sticks have came out people still are not at their best, give it afew months and everyone will have mastered it.

Cavallino tonight we shall play, and get that picture of your face as soon as i beat you.

My ranked win streak in now 96 i think! woooo! - Is there some kind of record? because i might be top lol

Dude, you are hyping this way too much. tbh I thought Cavalino talks too much about his skills, But you take the biscuit. This will end in tears... (Or pathetic excuses, or claims it was all a joke....)

While i very much appreciate the compliment i wouldn't put me in the same boat as ojste by a long shot :p

That said however, i do agree that a pad is by no means necessary, i'm sure that super-high-end players will benefit from having access to a good stick but then i'm sure they'd still kick peoples asses with just as much skill if they were limited to a pad. Even when i had a brief play with the 360 pad i was nearly as effective, my only issue was that i kept misplacing my fingers on the bumpers, the d-pad was still functional thanks to the short-cut system. I don't see anyone on these forums who is even bordering on top level players skill, maybe if people like ojste kept playing this obsessively for the next couple of years possibly, but not yet. Until that time i'm gonna say that no one on here really NEEDs a stick to improve skill, but that said i still want one as it just looks like more fun with a proper arcade stick feel.

That and i want to be able to walk into an arcade and kick ass. At present i don't have a clue how to use a stick and would suck badly at it.

I can play and do all moves fine on sf3 ggpo with a logitech rumblepad 2 for example I have no problems doing charge characters ultras but on the 360 pad I simply cannot do them.

I do know where C64 is coming from however, when i first got the game i was certain i was at a huge disadvantage due to using a pad. RP2000 was adamant that a stick wasn't an instant-win peripheral and now i see he was absolutely right.

Well I think my point is that once you get used to it a stick it's reliable whereas no matter how long your on the 360 pad it will always be hit and miss.

thats true, the problem with the 360 pad is not that it is a pad, but because its pretty inaccurate which is a big problem

Pff I never said Im good or talk about my skill! I just said I got 40 straight victories the other day (which incidentally I never did pull off on the PS3, PS3 players are better than 360 players perhaps?or maybe Im just crap with a PS3 pad? Doesnt make sense!).

I got my ass handed to me on many occassions by the likes of ojste and er, someone else whom I cant remember his nick lol.

Jamesdavid does take the buscuit :) But chances are I may actually not have a good run of matches against him. (At least I dont go ranting around that Im the best )
But eitherway I really do love Jamesdavids banter :p It is entertaining and brings an element of WWE-esque trashtalk to SF4 :D

How does the Madcatz pad do against the regular PS3 pad (I have a DS)? still worth getting?

analogue sticks are awful for beat em ups imo :o

madcatz pad would be a good option if you have problems pressing triggers (i assume madcatz pad will also have shoulder buttons for x3 binds though) otherwise theres no real advantages. you can't really make use of 6 face buttons like you can on a stick since you still only cover them with a thumb, rather than 3 fingers on a stick

huuh, I didnt say anything wrong this time! cu@lan rp2000... cu@lan

Well you have been going on and on about how you can beat everyone.
You even challenged ojste to a match and he accepted and gave you his PSN details.

Wouldnt it have been great if SF4 support cross platform multiplayer?

You sure you want to show your face at a LAN? You will be public enemy number 1 :D

i agree with ojste don't really think theres any real advantages over a pad

cross platform multiplayer is the way forward... i wished all multi platform would have this :(. maybe next gen.

couldnt dreamcast players on quake 3 play pc players? im sure there was a game around that time which had cross platform online multiplayer :o

While i appreciate the heads up Fueyfu i suggest you remove the name as it is a competitor to OcUK and therefore breaks the rules of the forum.
