Lol! a game without shadows in 2009.......that's like having a horse drawn carriage to take you to work instead of a car.

I think that looks pretty cool. The graphics are functional, main problem there is everyone seems to look the same..

small studio, the game has been in development for a long long time
In addition the potential scale of the battles is immense as they are full on city seiges rather than pre-set keeps

Whats the actual game like?

A bit rough around the edges but is incredibly immersive, you learn to vault all your loot very very quickly.
But i cant say anything past that as i borrowed a friends account to try it out

Above screenshots dont really do the game any favours, but in game it is acceptable gfx when you take into account scale and customizability

No crafters have really started making higher level armour yet tbh, so most people are in drops which will look the same
That will change when people start developing their talents

gameplay > graphics dont get me wrong but those pics look truly terrible...

i havent sampled Darfall and i probably wont due to bad feedback, but battles with so many players must be fun ..

ill stick with Lotro and the Ettenmoors for now ...

theres plenty of other games that had battles with large numbers of people, none of them worked enough to keep people playing. "Large battles" are good, but as soon as people swarm it it becomes a zerg and boring. Unfortunately darkfall has no polish (not the people) at all and just comes across as a very terrible game.

Stick to EVe online for massive battles tbh I could provide about 30 screenies of battles even bigger than that in EVE and now they seem to have fixed the lag it is pretty epic seing 1000+ ships shoot the crap uotta each other

Never played as boring a game as EVE before. Barely saw one human controlled ship not alone 1000+

And I dont find it combat unless you have some real control over the ship, rather than click and watch.

then you've never experienced what the rest of the people have, it can be truly epic at times

I can only say what I experienced when I played it. It just bored me and certainly wouldnt pay to play it.

Im sure other people can get more out of it, but I just thought it was dull.

depends what you do, if you stay around starter cities pvping its boring but if you siege and get involved in the world warfare its fun, those screenshots are on lower settings just to make sure i didnt lag. the game is epic

Personally I'd rather a game be released with crappy graphics but fewer bugs and better gameplay.

If the game is good people will stick around, giving the developers a cash injection while they then work on the graphical side of it.

Yes good gameplay is more important than graphics, however that doesn't mean people shouldn't be allowed to pass comment on the graphics, especially when they look as awful as they do here. Lawl.

IM(very)HO its pretty ugly. There is no detail to the surroundings. But then the graphical style simply doesn't appeal to me. Medieval-esque fantasy has been done time and time again - it gets stale.

I think its no great surprise that its not beautiful and in any case in an MMO you quickly look beyond the graphics. I'd be interested to know how well the (actually very exciting) features have been implemented. I heard the launch was a total fiasco though

Just because gameplay is more important then graphics does not mean that graphics are of no importance at all.
