FIFA 09 - Ultimate Team Mode

Right i'm about 12 games in now and i see what you were all on about racing to a gold is probably a bad idea to begin with :D

I've got around 1500 coins now, brought around 4-5 bronzes and 1 silver. Got Roy Carroll, playing really well for me in goal! Also this 74 spanish midfielder is a beast considering what i already have. Chemistry unfortunately is at 32 because of chopping and changing players most of the time when contracts run out. Trying to keep my team primarily english at the moment at most of the players i'm getting from bronzes are english. Saving all my contracts cards for when i get some half decent players, only used 1 so far and that was on Carroll :)

Enjoying it loads so far, apart from i was just in the middle of a match and lost connection, EA servers or my wireless went down not sure which it was.
 
i got the following for trade or coins.... I've been building a team of Italians as thats what I've gotten the most of. Some of these cards are not in the trade pile YET, but willing to part with for the right trade/coins:

= Tevez - Foward - 88 or 84
= Berbatov - Forward - 84 or 88
= Tim Howard - GK - 82 or 84 (i think)

= Ince - Manager - 74
= Ronaldo - RW - 94


....shoot over some trade offers and maybe could work something out.
 
Ok the search option on trades is driving me nuts at the lack of options on some sections. Can anyone help me out and tell me what colour card stoke's kit and badge are.

There is a million pages of stuff for clubs.
 
Have been building up my team (and yes i did buy a couple of packs with money...got too tempted).

Was wondering do you guys have a full squad of gold players or do you just have a main 11 or so gold players and the rest bronze and/or silver to play easy tournaments etc?
 
i have a full gold squad with the few odd silvers (nearly gold), and just interchange with lower ranked players in less important games
 
Um not trying to start something here but,

Is there any point to this expansion ?. I dont seem to understand what its all about. Im just bored of it and i have only played 7 games.

I have bought some bronze cards and one silver pack, play a few games and repeat the process with some gold cards. Is this really it ????.
 
If you look at it like that, is there really any point to any football game?

I imagine many of us have bought it because we really like Fifa and were looking for a new reason to pick it up and play it.
 
i give up with this. nice idea and all that, but i just can't get anywhere.

i keep having to buy poxy bronze packs just to get contract cards to stop my team falling apart. 37 games played and i've managed 2 silver packs so far. I don't know how the hell you guys managed to afford gold packs after just a few games (unless you've all got more money than sense and you actually paid real money for them!)
 
anyone unable to get on atm?

just stays on a blank screen when i try to enter ultimate team mode.

abit annoying as i wanna get a gold pack.

So raged at this game tbh, Last night I got Dossena in a gold pack, and I managed to pick Arbaloa up for around 800coins from the trade market.

I then used 2x 11 game contracts on both, played a game online, when won and went back to menu, both them players had gone!!!

So angry, wish EA would sort these stupid issues out.
