Okay - have been reading the SF4 threads for a while and I have to ask - What does cross up mean?
And while we are at it - could some one else explain the oft used SF4 terminologies used at the moment?

cross up means that when you use a jump in attack, you time it so that you hit behind them. this means they have to block the other way to actually block it. watch our match together (ken vs fei long), i do it a lot in the first round
Unless you use low flash kicks, not invulnerable ofcourse but less exposed than the medium or high.

Unfortunately though Guile isnt stuck as long on the way down compared to dp players...

I have bought an octagonal restrictor plate now and should get it next week. Got it from a place in the UK and they have loads in stock. Not sure I can mention them here as maybe competitor - though I think they sell completely different stuff to OcUK. can never be to careful though.

EasyG - it was from Gremlin solutions, listed under Sanwa Joystick accessories.
lk flash kick and lp dragon punch are both punishable just that the punish window is smaller 
as for ryu vs guile, ryu turtles and zones better than guile... if you can't break him down up close then don't, you don't need to.
fireball > sonic boom (at range anyway)
dragon punch > flash kick
if you really want to get close then obviously don't jump if hes crouching. pressure him with block strings and bait out flash kick, or do some throws. once hes grounded you have much more chance of landing a cross up.
didn't you say you used gouken anyway? or was that more BS excuse's to why you lost your tourney matches?

Had enough, cancelled my Subsonic stick order and pre-ordered a Blaze Digital Arcade Stick from the same site.
Looks like EXACTLY the same stick, but with coloured buttons instead of square, triangle, etc.
Plus it's £5 cheaper than the Subsonic and they have a fixed date when it's supposed to be coming in (April 17th).
Hopefully I'll be able to mod it with some Sanwa bits, but even if not, it'll tide me over until something better becomes available at a reasonable price.

Hell I even pulled off some basic bread & butter combos on you which I was suprised about!I do have a headset and will dig it out cause its getting annoying just sending messages now.
From what I have seen, you should be able to just open up the bottom remove the old one and reclip the new one in place. No glue or fittings required. Should not have to remove the stick mechanism at all I believe. Heres hoping
Did not realise that these were so modifiable until today - have a TE on order but may cancel as this one should do me fine, and if it breaks - wack a new part in.
