Just ordered a SE fightstick, saw them in stock and thought what the hell. Will be interesting to see how I manage with it, looking forward to trying it out though.

Oh man you are gonna suck for a bit.

Do not go back to the pad no matter how tempting though, even if you just wanna play for an hour it's the only way to learn.

I nearly went back to my pad a few times.

Lol I've almost got all my league matches done, so I'm gonna try have them finished over the weekend, that includes our remaining game. I should get the stick mon/tue hopefully so then I'll just stick to it no matter how hard it seems, at least for afew weeks. If I still don't get the hang off it by then, I'll sell but I will definately give it afew weeks.

No use selling it you'll only want one again, just stick with it and it will start to reward you. :cool:

It took me weeks to get used to the square gate, when I first got my stick I couldn't do anything and it felt like I was new to fighting games completely except I couldn't even do Hadoukens properly, it's not just the stick you need to get used to but also the layout of the buttons, you should have given it way more time instead of just diving in and trying to sort the issue out with money I think.

Cheers for the feedback. I know what you mean though - I know I will get the new restrictor plate fit it and still struggle with the stick, however know that I will get on better with the octagonal plate and for the few quid I paid for it I am willing to give it a try.

I'm free all weekend so I intend to play against CPU on hardest over and over vs Balrog first just to get an idea of his moves and then hopefully get a few games against someone online, then I'll be ready for a beating.

Most probably saturday evening. Last game I had vs Balrog was that game with you. I hear ojste isn't too bad with him, might ask him for a sparring session before our game.

Practice makes perfect, have a fiddle with trying to get the Hadouken motion down and remember exactly how you did it. It feels a bit different doing the motion on a square gate but really easy once you get used to it.

I had one too but returned it; within minutes the stick got 'stuck' in the bottom and up 'right' positons.. After spending £70 you would have thought it had some quality...but no..

Think ill end up getting a TE when they are in stock again

It does have quality if you get a working one, they are good sticks in working order.

Some of these Ryu vs Ryu games have had some serious WTF moments ojste.

LMAO them fireball + ultra clashes are simply hilarious, winner ends up eating an ultra looks so odd.

i think it was cos i was doing it too late so the fireballs were hitting me before the ultra came out... if that makes sense

ryus ultra is wayyy too good. theres so many uses for it and its easy to land :/

Ryu seems extremely good at pressuring, I'm proud to call him my first non-charge character.

Work in progress stamped all over him though.

lol don't worry i'm only jumping so much to adjust to doing mid-air hurricanes and getting the cross up position for them bang on.

when I just stand and jab it's my square gate arcade stick, very close to breaking the habit of a random jab or dp instead of a fireball.

also fiddling with something i only recently learned about focus attacks

Well I didn't know a focus attack that hits during an opponents combo/string automatically counts as a counter and crumples

its still in the box sat there taunting me, and i'll be honest i cant be bothered to try it cause i'll know i'll suck with it :confused:
