Although there is nothing wrong with my current GFX card, I just feel it's time to move on past the clouds and go back to nvidia after being with ATI for the last 7 years now it's time for a change. I have decided on upgrading to a BFG GTX 295 but I'm a little concerned about the PSU... Some reviews it needs a powerful PSU to run the card and the system all in one. I beg to differ because I think the PSU I have at the moment is more than enough for the GTX 295.

I have just upgraded a few bits of hardware after building a new rig only in September 2008.
ASUS RAMPAGE EXTREAME
ENERMAX Revolution 85+ Silver 850W (UPS 1000W/1400VA)

I would say the PSU is more than enough considering the output is 1000W I have run an Xtreme PSU full test and it came back with a lower PSU than I have at the moment.

Thanks guys I thought as much I just wanted to check, BTW can I sell my GFX card on this forum or do I have to have a selcted number of posts before I can do this.. The card is only 7 months old.

nvidia's gtx 295 speccy page says 680w minimum, so it does sound like you're out of luck.

And the requirements are exaggerated.

This card needs recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 46 Amp Amps and Corsair HX620W have 50 Amp Amps so it is more than fine.

I have the GTX295 with a corsair HX620W and the whole system use 470-500W at full load (CPU + GPU).
And is very stable and extremely fast (as expected)
