Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Well you seem to be doing alright with it, you managed to pull off Sagats EX uppercut followed by ultra which has to be done pretty quick while the player is still high up, just above his head. I do that all the time offline but online I've only pulled it off once or twice, most the time I do it just a fraction too late!

So then, who you gonna use in your away game? We might aswel get it over with tomorrow :o:p

I can do focus cancels most of the time in training mode but still trying to get it down proper, I fail at the part where you have to link the ultra as doing 2 quarter circles that fast usually ends in disaster for me with the stick. :o (I end up doing a friggin uppercut)

Not too sure I could stick to my fairly strong Balrog or try some Ryu, hmph.

Whichever it is, if I don't get at least a round I will be v disappointed. That's the first proper feel I've got off Balrog since we last played. I got an idea of what was coming from where so it will be good, I might just get lucky.

I might have a sparring session with Ojste first I hear he's not too bad with boxer :D
 
Were my jabs annoying? My button up until tonight was not responding at times it was the jab button so I was making good use of it. :D

Jabs seem to stop so many of Sagats attacks, getting you in the corner is pretty funny. :D
 
Lol yeah they were very very annoying. When you get the first jab in im pretty much disabled from doing anything until you jab me out of range. They were very quick tbh and very hard to block, something you probably noticed I never use but definately intend too. Thats why I just stick to Sagat yet I know I've still got MASSIVE room for improvement.

I've only got 3 people left to play, yourself, streeteh, and pseudo. I've never had a sparring session with Streeteh's Abel yet, he KO'd me out that tournament and that was the first I got to see of his Abel. How do you play against him? Any tactics?

haha yeah I noticed that, pesky jabs and canceling them into a dash punch works if you can get a quick opening, really nice. You can also just jab and block Blanka balls dead easy. :p

Not too sure about tactics sorry I think I've only played his Abel as Balrog. :p

I think my PS3 has died, all went black after finishing an SF IV match.

Oh well need to go do something for a bit will take another look later, could just be my HDMI cable as everything appears to work except nothing appears on screen. (still get audio from the game background thing that starts in XMB)

:eek: damn.

I went over to <maddness>'s house yesterday and something similar happened, his PS3 just wouldn't turn on, but was working fine earlier. No sound and no picture yet the green light was on, tried everything yesterday but no luck. Today somehow he got it working, I will tell him to post up exactly what he did after he rung up Sony.
 
Have you tried to hold down power button to start it so it tries all display settings then defaults?

Hope you get it fixed - enjoyed our earlier games as I got to learn your style more...

Works fine now, forgot I changed to my old HDMI cable a few days ago which was giving me issues before, anyway it is completely dead now (the cable).

Not sure why I started using the old cable again in the first place :/

There is another good Balrog player lurking around the forums, just had a little session with him, he went through Bison, Zangief, Ryu, Rose, Balrog, Blanka, and I only won 1 game. :o He should have entered the league, didn't expect that at all :D
 
I want to play this on XBL so much it hurts.. University halls can do one :(

This is the first fighting game Ive ever got stuck in to, and really, really enjoying it. Saddly though Im now far better than most of my friends due to endlessly doing Trials etc., so without XBL Im not sure how long its going to last..
 
Hi,

I'm about to get this and was pretty rubbish last time round, but fancy another go, do people have any tips to help me along the way? Which character to use? Does the manual tell me all the moves, or do i have to find out myself?
