I've been bullied into driving from Cornwall to Cardiff (and back) next week. We have a works football tournament, so my fuel will be payed for:)
Google maps shows it 197 miles 3 hours 30 mins.

There will be about 5 of us driving. I must have the slowest car out of the lot:o
Any done a similar trip in a small car? I know my arse will feel like a rock after =/

I once drove 400 miles in one day in a Saxo VTR was not to bad everyone commented once they got out that it was no where near as bad as expected and more comfortable than the subaru they usually travel in.

There are better cars to do it in and the lack of power in a 1.1 will get irritating but its not going to blow up or anything. :p

Did 5 hours in a 94 1.2 Clio, that was quite bad.
Had to drop a gear to maintain 70mph along the M5 at Bristol!! (The 4 lane uphill section)
As a one off its not bad but you wouldnt want to do it all the time.

Sounds bad:(

My mate has a BMW 325i, who I'll be following:eek:

Well if your expected to play footy straight after the journey then yeah it's gonna be a right mission hehe :) But in my old 106 1.1 i've driven plenty of long distance journeys, nowt wrong with it, especially if your not used to driving comft motorway cruisers.

have done 5 blokes from swindon to leeds in an old fiesta last year. Not a laughing matter, get as many stops in a possible.

Did cornwall to old trafford and back to watch an england game just after i passed my test in my 1.1 205 junior!... me driving and 4 passengers, and on the way back got stuck in epic traffic which sucked big time and took approaching 8 hours to get home, so total driving time for that day was around 14 hours

I’ve done a run to the Lake District and back in an MG Metro, with four adults in the car, boneshaker heaven.
