Secret Millionaire

Not at all, absolutely not. And you could tell the guy was really dedicated to helping and emotional. It just takes the pee out of the money I give (% wise).

If he had 1 mill that would be 5% of his cash, So lets say hes worth about 5mill.. 1% of his money...

How much do you donate out of your monthly wage? Doubt its much higher :)

Add another £15 million and your closer to the mark, his business is currently worth aprox £20 million.

Which has nothing to do with the amount of cash the guy has.

It was a very moving episode this one, Gary seemed a genuinely really nice guy, and those two veterans were fantastic!

He was worth 20mil, and I gave about 2% of my worth last year - an amount that shocks me actually.

+1

Being worth 20 million does not = 20 million cash, by a long chalk. He gave a significant amount to people who have never seen money like it. Top bloke, and this program restores a bit of faith in humanity for me.

Yep very touching programme, and he still donated a large amount of cash imo..I was kind of dreading him giving the cash to that heroin addict lady as when she said she was clean I was like "for how long" :(

Not saying they are all that bad im sure some reform properly and live full lives..her going out on the boozer when he met her for the 2nd time changed it all though and he decided (rightly) not to help her..

Bet she was gutted if she saw the programme again thinking dam if only I stayed clean! :/

MAN UP jeez can't believe you cry at that pile of ****

yea more often than not what they give is hardly life changing.

millions in the bank , massive mansion + thriving business ill just chuck this poor guy a few thousand quid so they can carry on running XXX for the community.

massive respect people with much less money give those amounts, no need to go live there for a damn week and be on a tv show for that crap.

now the guy who paid for a new church roof and for all the church repairs was a decent bloke.

To be fair, every single one of these people who donate something could've chosen not to. It's the thought and recognition what counts.

When that bloke paid 30k to a woman to effectively pay her salary for two years, you could see how much it meant to her: likewise in the same programme where he gave 100k+ to buy accommodation for some charity - although this guy was a multi-millionaire.

Some money, even if it's a fraction of the original sum - is still better than nothing and it's something which the people had no law, etc. forcing them to do so.
