As above really.

In a nutshell im a skinny ****er, im 5' 10" and i think im just on the boarder of being underweight, if not underweight.
I generally work out a few times a day doing a variety of crunches, sit ups, reverse crunches, push ups, bench dips and use a handy trim (if you know what one is) quite frequently. I have no problem with toning the muslce i have but just cant seem to gain any muscle mass/weight.
I would say i live quite a health life, i have balanced meals, drink lots of water, barely have fast food and eat a lot of fruit. I also do over the recommended daily amount of exercise of 30mins per day (not including the stuff i meant earlier; push ups, bench dips, etc)

So could anyone give me some pointers on how i could gain muscle mass?
i have wanted to join a gym for a while but just haven't had the time, would joining a gym be greatly beneficial seenas i dont do weights of any sort?
Also, ive had a thought about protein shakes and all that stuff but would rather gain muscle naturally unless the protein stuff comes highly recommended?

Thanks a lot,

Flare.

Be careful about the exercises you do and what protein you eat, I know a guy who did some squats and ate a protein and after a little bit he had 4% bodyfat and these stupidly huge biceps, he looked like arnie. You just want to get toned so be careful.

Ok, read your post this time.

don't do weights? you won't grow.
spend the time you are doing crap like crunches and reverse crunches etc, in the gym.

fair point.
im going to try and get a membership at the gym then, its a tad pricey but ah well.

If you have space buy a home gym - Squat rack + bench
Protein shakes from http://www.myprotein.co.uk/
Save so much time at home and cheaper in long run

Thats what I do and Iv gained 2 stone in almost a year
Mostly noob gains but its worked for me

Personally I couldnt be bothered travelling to a gym, workin out with other sweaty people and then driving home

Each to their own

Because someone who doesn't use weights, and is quite unlikely to have a clue how to use them properly, really needs a rack and home weights
