I currently have 6 Motherboards at my house and I only use one what I was wondering is how do you guys get rid of your old stuff for your pc.

Do you simply throw it away, sell it or send it somewhere to be recycled? Im asking because I am getting a lot of components building up and I really have no idea what the best way is to get rid of the stuff. Tipping it was the best idea I got but is there a bette way?

Well it depends what motherboards they are, if were talking really really old then I would just chuck them, but otherwise I try and sell mine, or build up another PC on the cheap and sell that.

I build up systems with left over parts & flog them, Some times it can take ages even a year or so but sooner or later a full system is built & free money comes my way.

If unsellable, I always dump myo old pcs/components in the "electronic equipment" box at my local waste centre. Don't know if it's being recycled or tipped, but at least it's better than putting it in your household rubbish.

Not if its a full system, ill sell it to someone i know, more likely to get a decent price for it, if its components, then I just see what I can manage.

Randomly I am looking for a new mobo.

What are the specs of the better few?

Are any of them socket 775 and fairly decent mobo's? I needs a new 1 for my E4300 to clock better.

Im constantly nagged by friends to build systems for them so any bits i have generaly go in those.

Some ive sold on, and the old boards that are either damaged or not worth rma'ing get binned. I did use one s939 board to bodge a second rig out of various parts, and still have an evga 680ia1 with a dodgy memory controller packed in it's box.

My old motherboards just pile on in that box marked "One of these days, I'm going to make a computer out of the stuff in this box, and sell it as 'an internet ready' pc on the ad board in Asda"

I have a total of 5 motherboards...only 4 of them are being used...the 5th I bought from a friend cos I thought one of mine was ready to die...and then turns out it was fine after all. That particular 5th one is the ASUS Crosshair.

The others are 3 ASUS and one MSI.

I dont know what I will do with the Crosshair. I may build a machine out of it for someone and give it to them...who knows...
