I used to be a miserable soul. Whilst being angsty and wondering why the girls didn't love me (you were fat, Nitefly), I was convinced that the programme was a travesty. I never, ever got Friends. It just seemed too obvious.

However, I have had a complete turnaround. I am absolutely loving watching Friends on E4. For someone who is so late to the series, I can't get over how consistent the episodes seem to be (granted, I can't tell one season from another).

I guess above all, it's so fresh to sit back something which is genuinely funny. And by that, I mean it doesn't have to resort to being random or offensive, which is seeming increasing cheap.

Anyway, I think Friends is an excellent series. What do you think? Has anyone else had a similar turn around?

HA ! About time ! :p

Friends is AMAZING, I have it all on DVD on Region 1 which actually has scenes that was cut to fit in a 30mins slot with adverts. :D

If you like it, watch "How I met you mother" as well, another EXCELLENT show.

pretty much exactly the same for me.

I used to detest Friends.. i think what really did it for me was that a guy in my class in college, who I didn't really get on with, banged on about it all the time. His love for it was based on his theory that '... real life is boring and crap and Friends is sooo much better..' this crap and the fact that when the show finished he spent pretty much the entire day in tears:D made me switch it off in disgust

But like you since the reruns have been on I have converted to the easy watching comedy that is Friends:o

I used to really like it when it first aired on C4, I think mostly because my sister (idiot) used to actually take the censor ratings / watershed seriously. So I couldn't watch it and I wondered what all the craic was about like all forbidden fruit.

I then became old enough to watch and, er, didn't ever again. They happen (still are?) on E4 while I'm eating tea, and even though they're rubbish they beat other tripe gameshows and the gay scouser with that stupid dog.

How I met your Mother is brilliant, watch them every week. As for friends, I always watch the rerere..repeats of them on E4 and they never get old.

Ok then, I'll stand up and say I like it as much as I ever did, which is to say not all that much. It has humourous moments but basically it's bland and inoffensive - literally the Budweiser of sitcoms. The best I can say for it is that if it is on I won't immediately rush to turn it off which is more than I can say for a great many sitcoms.

I liked the little pet monkey Ross and Jenifer Annison adopted from "the naked guy", who they later gave to yellow haired freak who runs the bar, after they lost a game of football on christmas day to the guy from magnum

we had a guy living on the floor below us (to the left) who used to show up on but-nekkid every weekend at his window.

gf named him "pretty-naked-guy", but obviously I couldn't agree out loud!

It was a well-written show though, compared to so much carp it competed with. JA and MP went on to better things, and the others didn't too too badly - so all in all not a bad undertaking. They must've made some serious biccies out of it.

Last couple of seasons they were getting $1million each per epiode, at the start it was like $20k.
