Pasta Hut

I think the one in Newcastle next to the Bigg Market changed to Pasta Hut for a while.

Never went in mind.

It should be.
It's like Chinese takeaways who can't cook things correctly, season or get a balanced taste. There's no way it should taste nice for anyone.

People eat garbage for whatever reason, heck, the most successful food companies are McDonalds etc. :(

We have some terrible take aways around here. All 20 items on the menu are blatently the same (Indian) or just are completely wrong (Oriental) but don't forget e.g. they'd be chippies and whatnot as well for the locals...

I had some real nice pizzas in Pizza Hut, but after a while it seemed to go downhill pretty bad as I found they started going OTT with the sauce, the cheese was nice though.

chinease where i live is really nice they do the best Special fried rice and other mains. Also got a really good pizza takeaway and Indian :D.

Pizzahut food is rubbish. OcUk do the best food :P

Well the pickle I'm in is that I will literally eat any food, I don't think there is anything I have ever eaten that I though tasted "horrible". Maybe I have no tastebuds left or something but really half the time it doesn't matter where I eat.

It's kind of a bummer really, when I tell someone their food is nice they can never take it as a compliment; "you'll eat anything". bah

Used to work in a PH years ago when at Uni. I've never had a problem with their pizzas tbh, but I always hated "cooking" people the pasta and lasagne dishes.

Basically, they're bulk-packed frozen microwave dinner-esque things. You just peel the top off the tub, pack it into a pasta dish, put some cheese on top and whack it through the oven. Overpriced gunk.

Just how bad was that dinner date? First of all, the girl comes up with shocking female chat:

"Mmm, this is nice. They should rename it pasta hut"

Now, most men accept that females are not blessed with the art of conversation and would thus reply with a similarly light hearted comment, whilst secretly thinking of the potential 'poon'. But no. He replies, absolutely dead pan:

"No. That'll never happen"

I wouldn't like to imagine how fun his birthday parties are.

What I want to know is how can a company serve such horrible tasting food and still stay in business. It's the same as all the crap Chinese takeaways. Why do people keep going back to these places.

Probably rhetorical but I'll go for it anyway :p

Availability, familiarity, greed, price? People know what they're getting when it comes to pizza hut and they are found all over town centres. Not only are they the easy option if you don't want to go looking for a decent restaurant, they are also relatively cheap if you go for the buffet. I don't go though.

I love the food snobs on here :p

They wouldn't be multi-million pound chains if they weren't popular or people thought they tasted rank. Simple. It's junk food, not fine dining, and a lot of people are just fine with that.

I can't understand how Pizza hut stays in business when it prices itself roughly the same as Pizza express but tastes so, so much worse.

Why would you ever to to 'Hut when you could go to 'Express?

It's not food snobbery. It might be fast food, but you can sill get nice, cheap fast food. Most pizza akeaway places are far nicer than pizza hut and cost the same(except teh buffet)

It's an addictive food adative that makes you want to eat more of anything?

Nope, it's a flavour enhancer and any health concerns about it have very little scientific backing. Unless you eat stupid amounts or have an intolerance, but people can have intollerences to pretty much anything.
