Big boss here today lots of rumors recently !

Not good, !:mad:

Any pay out I'd get might keep me for a few months as I've been here 9 years. But its not good at all.

I work for a very large insurance company thats about to change its name. I work in Systems support team within a non IT dept that is currently downsizing.

Off for a meeting soon, I've heard various rumors than my job will be specifically at risk ! 4 other more senior projects managers I work with may be transfering to IT roles. But all rumors.

I don't really like my job(I Actually hate it) at all but hey its a job !

I've got a large amout of credit card debt that could potentially get paid off if I get made redundant. But then I'll be skint

I'm kind of worried but also kind of excited !

Anyone else been in a similar situation ?
How did you take it when you where told the news ?

I can't really get on with any work as I'm worried ! hench I'm hear getting it off my chest.

I can identify with that.. there's a certain level of the unknown; they know what is going on but are usually deliberating who to 'delegate' announcing the bad news.
At my last permanent job there was speculation in the drawing office for quite some time from some of the older staff members who had seen all the signs before... time sheets for work completed introduced, increased workload with no regard to staffing issues, no feedback from management regarding possible solutions to day to day troubles, vague emails from middle management banging on about performance etc etc.

When push came to shove it was almost a relief to finally get the news for certain and to be out of a rapidly worsening situation. Just don't let them try and persuade you into taking voluntary redundancy... it's usually for their benefit at the expense of yours.

All getting dragged into meeting rooms individually with Director.

First person has just left !!! only 5 more people to go inc me !

Not looking good ! :(

I worked as a HR consultant for a while for know my rights ! ;)

Going to record it all on on my mobile ! just in case !

Worst that could happen is there is no change at all and my job stays the same and I carry on on the same projects etc etc.

Goodluck man, if you are hearing so many rumors on top of everything else you are most probably right.

Hopfully you won't get the chop!
