Argh, help me cool my room down.

I have one of those fan/light combis on my ceiling. Got an AC for summer too, both of them work fantastically.

I'm not sure, I have rubbish tolerance to heat (I'm British Indian wtf), and I get annoyed at anything about 22. It was deffo higher than that when I came in and then stepped back...:(
I'm the same, people are always telling me my house is cold, some of them still in their coats telling me it's freezing and I'm actually quite warm with just a t-shirt on.

Bloody hell people moaning at the slightest hint of heat. Take your t-shirt off, who cares if someone tells you to put clothes on, that's their problem. Enjoy the sun while it lasts.

I can only enjoy it if I'm outside ;)

Inside is a different matter, and I meant that light heartedly.

Crack the window and stick some music on to drown out the noise.
Aircons overated. Fresh air from the open window is better.

Also i quite often sit around the house in my boxers when it's hot, unless my rents are in because they're trying to be a bit posh and think it's uncivilised.

i know what you feel im pretty hype most of the time my body temp goes to 39, (yes i have measured it), right now i have aircon i got from a friend, keeps the room at 16 degrees most of the time

A temp measure is to wrap a sheet of cardboard with silver foil and put it in the window so it reflects the light out of your room.

I hate it when it starts to get warm, working nights then trying to sleep in a south facing bedroom means I wake up most days with a dehydration headache :(

You don't need to cool your room down. You ned to cool yourself down.

Ensure you have a bit of bare flesh exposed and point a decent fan at yourself constantly, even at night. I suggest one with large blades and slow speed to reduce noise.

Yate loon/ noctua TBH.

Maybe fit a TRUE onto said exposed bits of flesh.

that does nothing, aircon for the win!

... nothing except to work for me, keeping me perfectly cool and comfortable all summer for years.

OP, one thing to maybe look at is insulation. If you are on the upper floor of a house, you may get a lot of heat leakage from above. Ever been in a loft, or on a flat roof in the height of summer? It is VERY hot. Roof insulation is generally considered something to keep you warm in winter, but it can also reduce heat transfer in summer too. Same goes for wall insulation - cavity wall insulation will slow down transfer of heat from outside to inside in summer, as well as from inside to outside during winter. Of course your house neds a cavity wall for this to work. Another thing you can do, which sounds bizarre but will drop the temperature by a few degrees, is to wet the outside wall of your room in summer. The sun evaporates the the water off the wall cooling the wall in the process. Got a hose? This was a method used industrially to cool buildings years ago. Don't know if it is still in use. Basically factories and warehouses used to have a roof spinkler system which was turned on manually for a short while a few times per day to give a litttle cooling.
