Has anyone seen this new advert?

Yeah, I agree. Everyone should see that. And yeah it is very strong. I will be sending/ show that to as many people as possible. I may even try and get it sent out in college.

Never understood domestive abuse really. Getting arrested for giving you wife a black eye is like getting arrested for keying your own car!

/Jimmy Carr :p

No, but DA is discusting. I don't really understand it that well and i guess i couldn't unless i was in the situation. That's why i'll never go out with anyone who ****es me off*

*sorry i shouldn't joke

yes it's strong and gets the point across but at the same time, it desensitises people to it!

Look at the advert with the man that see's the little boy everywhere?

Worked the first time, now I am just "jesus, does it have to be so long?".

Not strong enough frankly and can someone please point out that this also happens against men - who don't want to report it due to feeling that society will judge them as wimps for not hitting back against the women they love. I knew a chap who was killed by his wife after years of domestic abuse, police were never involved as he always refused to say a word against her. One day she hit him on the head once too often. He was over 6ft, she is tiny, but size doesn't matter when you're an aggressive and abusive person.

I dont think it worked to be honest. Its just shows her getting a kicking.

It may have been better if it showed some close up's of the damage done.

People only become desensitised when they see something too often, hopefully they will restrict the times this is shown at and the frequency.

Yeah, but that's not the point though. Everyone knows domestic violence can lead to horrific injuries. The idea here is to get across the idea that for these women there is no 'cut call'; they are totally defenceless, and violence can strike at any time for any reason.

Clearly dinner was not ready for him when he came home.

After the initial "jesus christ!" of watching that ad, reading that made me laugh harder than I have all day and now I feel bad.

I really don't want to see that ad again though if I'm honest, it's pretty strong.

Agreed with the poster about it happening the other way too. Good advert, but again the gender bias is present.

It's an advert produced by Woman's Aid... If you're that worried, go start up Man's Aid and produce an advert.

The bias exists because by and large it's men that beat up women, not vice versa.
