Anyone watch it last night?
Were the subtitles for the bloke from Sunderland really necessary?
Yes and yes
They are for the benefit of us southerners who speak 'proper' as someone in this thread might say

(i jest)
I think that it's a great show indeed and it is indeed moving. More the reaction of the people than the millionaire involved I find.
The only things that bother me a little (although not enough to stop me enjoying and watching the show) are:
The way in which the 'news' is broken: "I've a confession to make, I'm a millionaire"... I feel like saying: "good for you pal"
I wish that there was a better way of doing that part of the show but it's just a minor quibble.
Also, to what extent is it all scripted? I wont poo-poo the show, but I just can't help but wonder how no one wonders what is actually going on? I mean, if I moved to a random part of the country and tried to 'get involved' like the millionaires do on the show, then would they indeed accept me and involve me willingly in their lives and activities? I'm not so sure frankly.
Other than that I really enjoy the show and qudos for the people who help others for little gain. Respect to the millionaires for wanting to do some good too. Only a small minded cynic would try to cheapen their charity:
but it's so small compared to someone with less money, they can afford to give so much more. Aaaand the usual claptrap some will give.
Looking forward to the next episode!
