I am looking for suits. I do not have a budget, as I am only looking for now to purchase in the future.

My build is very tall and slim, so I think a tight fit would look nicer on my body? - However, with the suit I want to purchase, I do not want it to be plain black like the majority of suits are, I want to look different because I will be using this suit in performances and obviously when being a performer you need to be noticed.

I want to look modern, yet stylish and smooth. How can I achieve this effect?

I have no experience in suits, apart from that I own one suit in my wardrobe which does not fit me at all. So, any suit experts here? :)

Rotty!!!!

more importantly than anything you have written here is

how much do u want to spend.

first suit, if you dont wear them too often should be a navy suit,

you can wear it informaly at a without a tie, and mix it up with different shirts

or go formal with a white shirt and tie.

Well I could spend up to £700 maybe, depending, because I know the suit will last me for ever, if not a extremely long time.

It does not have to look formal, it can be very casual, such as, having no tie and having the shirt undone. - This suit is going to be used for me when performing magic. - So I want to look elegant and cool.

I hope £700 is enough, or not too much? My budget is sort of out the window at the moment.

What type of performance? If it's a musical performance, then it's a dinner jacket that you're looking for.

If you are going to spend up to £700 then you should be able to get one personally tailored. This isn't made to measure, PT means that you get a semi fitted suit and it is then adjusted to fit you perfectly.

A decent tailor should be able to supply pretty much anything you want.

:| Tailor made then ;) do you want to look like david copperfield ;)?

Cooler than him :) Hehe.

Magic performances, for restaurants, hotels, stage, and other nice venues.

Well I do not have to spend that amount, what happens if one is tailored for myself? Do they just cut it to fit my size? - Would that be a waste of money? Should I just buy one that is cheaper?

I really do not know where to start. :p

Unfortunately there is a lot of overlap.

For your budget you can get an expensive off the peg, a good personally tailored, or a cheap made to measure.

You're paying for two things; the fabric and the skill / time of the tailor (or the brand name) and you can balance them out to meet your budget.

I have no idea what you like, so you'll have to go to the shop / tailor and have a look for what you like, do some research about different cuts and then either find something that meets your needs, or get someone to make it.

The one thing a decent tailor will be able to tell you is what will make you look good, and he'll also be able alter the suit to take your build into account. For instanace, I have one leg apparently longer than the other (it's not really longer, but my pelvis has a slight rotation) and these kind of thing's aren't unusually by any stretch of the imagination. A tailor will spot these things the moment you walk in the door and should account for them without asking you.

I would suggest you don't need to pay anywhere near that, maybe just look around for something off the peg and get one with a flashy colourful lining ?

Probably this to be honest.

I've wasted a lot of money on suits before by fetting fat and then again, by losing loads of weight.

Unless you want to go for the Derren Brown look, of course.

i would suggest you go for a tailor, if only PT

the main reason being that the suit can have some changes done to help in our act (hidden pockets, open seams etc) that you wont be able to get any other way.
