Hi all i am thinking of increasing my ram from 2GB to 4GB however i hear there is a problem with the motherboard recognizing 4GB the Motherboard detects the ram and doubles it, which is fine with 2GB it works fine but i hear that when you upgrade it to 4GB it only recognizes 3 meaning it halves it to 1.5GB ram making it less efficient than what it all ready is. What i need to know is is this true and if so what can i do to make it recognize the 4GB ram. Thanks.

P.S. the motherboard is a P5N-e sli and the computer is custom made below i have included other information.

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT
OS: windows Vista home premium

It should be fine, i ran 4x1Gb Geil Ultra 8100Mhz stuff on it no problem at all, all i had to adjust was +0.1v on the northbridge

Im not sure if youre confusing what youve heard with this, if you have a 32bit OS windows will only see 3.25Gb out of 4Gb
