anyone know if a motor factors is likely to list aux drive / fan belts by size as well as manufcaturer? I need a shorter belt for my car, but am at a loss as to where to get belts from other than to walk in say i want a belt for "x car please"

i will pop down tomorrow, just missed closing time today. but just wondering if anyone knew, or knows somewhere that might list the info i need online, so i can walk in and say what car i want a belt from, and know it'll be the right length.

The sizes are often on them or combined in the product code - ie 10 950 for the Golf was 10mm wide and 950mm long.

Best bet would be to go in with the old belt mate, a hell of a lot less hassle.
:)

i can't, i have cinquecento with a stilo engine and a bravo alternator - the cinquecento belt i have is too long and if i tension it properly it fouls the engine mount ;)

kk, so with that kind of info they might be able find one for me with a bit of searching in the back. cheers

They'll have a book with all their available to order stock. You'll be able to find something quite easily I'd imagine.

Certainly managed this with Firestar's supercharged MX5.
