UEFA Champions League QF L1 - 7/8 April ***Spoilers***

Glad Im not the only realising Essien is an outstanding player. Like I posted a while back when Essien returned; Things can only get better.
 
Still can't quite believe the score, thought this was a nailed on 1-1. Can't see Liverpool progressing unless they score another one tonight.
 
Hats off to Chelsea. Expected them to be tight in defence but didn't expect them to attack us in the way they did. We got completely outclassed and outplayed. Congrats Chelsea :)

Got everything we deserved. Chelsea played well but in all truth they didn't need to, our defending and passing were a ****ing disgrace :mad:

Congratulations Chelsea hope you beat Barca in the semi's. At least we can concentrate on the league now :rolleyes:
 
Good game that, made a change to the usual Chelsea/Liverpool games. Benitez was obviously too worried about what Fergie had to say this week to bother thinking about how to play against Chelsea :D
 
Very well played Chelsea, I thought Chelsea were extremely good tonight. I would say we were poor, but I think that would be a discredit to Chelsea. It wasnt so much that we were poor, was more that Chelsea just didnt let us play.

I really dont think we will turn the tie around in the 2nd leg, so it looks like the road in europe ends here for us this year. If I was to take any positive from this, I guess it would be that hopefully we just put it behind us and it allows us to concentrate on the league now.

As a negative of tonight (and the past few months), my patience with Babel has really run out. I have quietly grown to really dislike him being at the club, considering that he gobbed off that he was as good as Thierry Henry, I really do think he has delusions of grandeur. I can sum up Babel in a simple sentence... run with the ball, run with the ball, run with the ball, get tackled. It seems to be just about all the guy does. Pity because he seemed promising at first, but he needs to get his head out of the clouds and realise that he isnt the big all.

So in summary, well done Chelsea, and I hope that this doesnt knock us psychologically and we put it behind us before our early start match against Blackburn (a match that I was already worried about)

Agree. Haven't been outplayed like that in Europe since losing to Benfica.

come off it. we're supporting liverpool in this, that much is obvious surely?

Liverpool were poor, really poor, considering their recent run of form.
Chelsea were really good, despite Drogba's lacklust performance in my opinion.

Drogba didn't look too intrested, then he actually looked intrested and scored !
