PES 2010 Huge overhaul

The last PES i actually enjoyed playing was number 6 on PS2.

To a degree, 2008 was OK on the PS2, not great.

Well I've been playing fifa since fifa international soccer in 1994 on the megadrive, have played every incarnation since, i've played every iss then pro evo on ps/ps2/pc now 360 and am damn good at both series and have been for many years, yet there has never been a fifa game that plays like real football like pro evo does, FACT. Fifa has all the gimmicks, great online modes but poor gameplay that to my continual bemusement considering how much money ea must throw at the franchise, year after year is nothing like actual football. The fifa games that were realeased on the xbox/ps2 up to fifa 2007 were actually getting to be decent, in particular champions league 2006/2007 on the ps2 was superb, (then the ps2 version of fifa 2008 was terrible, why?????)if not better than pro evo 6 then a very fun alternative. How EA have made such terrible next gen versions and how people seem to think these games are good is totally beyond me. THE 360 VERSION OF FIFA 09 IS ****!!!!!! All my mates and everybody I have talked to about footy games agrees that Fifa was ok on ps2 but has been cack so far on ps3/360. Fifa 07 was terrible, Fifa 08 was ok but nothing special and had nice graphics, Fifa 09 has no gameplay and the players look retarded to boot. Why do so many people seem to think fifa 09 is good???!!!!

Last PES game I bought was for the 360 and it looked like a PS1 game, gameplay was what mattered but God was it ugly.

I have given up on PES, least you know what your getting with FIFA.

I have lost all trust in Konami since PES 2008. I won't be pre-ordering and then wait until reviews after release.

I've been Pro Evo all the way since I played it for the first time on the PS1 and not tried FIFA ever. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me some points about what are the bad points of Pro Evo 2009 and the comparison of the bad point to FIFA 09?

I personally love every Pro Evo version since the beginning but every time they release a new verison I initially don't like it. I think it's because you can't play in the style you have become accustomed to in the previous series and you have to change your style completley.

I've got a few mates that only play FIFA and all i get out of them is FIFA's better! but never actually why it's better.

Spot on imo.

I used to play FIFA all the time but decided to try Pes09 and the difference was clear, the gameplay and style of football which you can play on Pes is far better and more realistic than FIFA. Yes FIFA has all the licences to player and club names but at the end of the day it’s all about how the gameplay is and yes I have played the latest FIFA and hated it, players mindlessly run around and usually into each other, the ref is retarded.

Pretty much all my mates play FIFA but when I’ve got them to try Pes they were at actually amazed that it was a good game and loved it. Tho still get the odd moan here and there usually in the form of "What team is this? Who’s that player?" etc etc, but otherwise they and I think it’s a great game.

Hope they fix the minor problems it does have (mostly online play) but will be buying the next Pes regardless.

Pro 09 was absolutely woeful. The fact that you couldn't even properly put it on manual summed the whole game up.

Everything after PES 6 has been a joke imo.

How anyone can class running a defender at 30 miles per hour up the pitch as realistic is beyond me!!

I thought it was normal/realistic for players to run the full length of the pitch in 3 seconds? :confused:

Nah mate, it's more about a slower paced game, about the passing, the through balls, the crosses, the building up play from the back... that would make a game realistic game.

FIFA09 is technically superior in every way to PES09 except for the fun aspect, i dunno but it feels too much like hard work ...with the power meters for passing you really have to think about everything a second or two before you go through with the action and it all feels a bit clunky to me.

it's a good game but i want to love it and i just don't so i hope PES2010 brings the series back into contention - i'll always love the Konami style better.

not realistic at all imo.

realism is when you kick a football and it sounds like you're booting a cardboard box.

Fifa is poor, anyone with a brain who plays pro evo then fifa will spot that pro evo is a complex simulation of football made by people who understand football and that fifa is a kiddies game designed to sell morons add on at 800 msp every few months.

I've had infinitely more fun (key word here!) playing Pro Evo with mates than any attempts with Fifa. Sure, it looks pretty, has the licences and fancy menus but when it comes down to it it sure does play like tripe.

My opinion, of course! Not a 'fanboy' in the slightest but know what game is more fun.
