Won't somebody think of the fans?

I don't understand the problem. They're a club, they earned the right to step up. If they're good enough they should earn the right to step up again.

Exactly what do they fall short on that denies them from being able to get promotion?

It's not exactly clear.

They aren't a club.

Well, even if they are it doesn't matter because no-one likes them.

"No-one likes them". Half of the country hates Man United, but when are you going to hear of them saying "nobody likes us, we're going to quit football now".

Wasn't it you who was going on about people not supporting their local sides not long ago, or am I confusing you with someone else?

I'm at bath uni. Not heard about this though, since I'm on holiday atm.

Seems a shame as they're pretty good really. Better than the local team I think also.

Nope it was me, you're right there but this is a special case. Bath City are the only team in Bath that need support and they need to find the money to pay a decent standard of footballer every week so that they can compete at the same level as Team Bath who have a team of full time professionals at their disposal.

I'm not against the idea of what TB stand for, that is giving young professionals the opportunity to get an education but they should never have been allowed to compete in the same pyramid as bread and butter clubs. Every promotion that they've won has denied the chance to regular, more deserving clubs who are doing it the right way.

For anyone who knows this division, Team Bath have very few fans and a mean very few. It's Bath City FC that get the lions share.

To me it seems odd why they are dropping out, why not just win the league and then see what happens? Though by looking at some of their performances this year they would have a long way to go before getting into the Football League!

Well, it's unlikely that they'd win the league that they're in. The calibre of reject that they've had over the years has topped out now and the players in the regional conference are better than them, which is nice to see. Winning the playoffs is also a big ask when you're up against teams that are spending upt £17,500 p/w on players pages, and that buys a good squad at this level!

Just what exactly do you mean by a 'bread and butter club' that is 'more deserving' and 'doing it the right way'?

It'll be a sad state of affairs when we start tearing up the league table, ignore what happens on the pitch and instead have a high council decree which team has the moral right to a promotion.

What do you mean "when"? It has been happening every season for the last few years!

Weston Super Mare FC just kick the ball about for a laugh all season and then get saved at the league AGM in June. Cambridge City got relegated last year despite finishing midtable, all because some anomoly with their turnstiles.

Bread and butter clubs are those that actually have to earn the money that they pay to their players, you know like physically handing over wage packets with money in at the end of every week. You've got to have the money to give it to them.

More deserving clubs are those that are pretty much run behind the scenes by the fans who do it for the love of it, not some university team with full time pro's on worthless courses.
