Hi all

Looks like my Enermax infiniti 720 could be on its way out (waiting for PSU tester to arrive)

So Im looking at one of the following

Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-CS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

or

Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 650W ATX2.2 Modular SLi Compliant Power Supply http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-021-BQ

Currently running

E8400 @ 4Ghz
4x2 gig @ 1069
4870 512
6 Fans inc CPU
1 sata DVD
5 Sata Drives

I want a PSU that will handle upgrade aswell (dont ask me what that is, but most likely to be graphics and CPU in time)

Thanx in advance

Personally I would go with the Corsair (assuming it is also modular, if not the BeQuiet!) due to the single 12V rail, but either would do the job.

looking at the corsair it only has 2 PCI-e cables (on thier website) so I use 2 currently so I would need and molex adaptor if I went Crossfire or sli.

or am I mistaken

Yeah, just two.

If i were going Crossfire/Sli, i'd get something beefier with enough dedicated PCI-E connectors. But that's just me.

Beefier.?

crossfired 4879 512mb will be more than happy running off 650watts on a DECENT psu like the ones stated, no need for anything bigger, would be a waste of money :)

"crossfired 4879 512mb will be more than happy running off 650watts on a DECENT"

I know that.

You'll also notice i advised him to buy the Corsair as the Be Quiet is a silly price, and a real waste of money. If he was happy to spend £103, then i gave him a much better option, in addition to the cheaper option he has with the Corsair.

I'd rather spend £103 on a top quality PSU with higher wattage and the correct amount of PCI-E connectors - but again THAT'S JUST ME!

;)

looking at the be quiet has only 2 pci-e connectors.

So if top end cards need 2 x Pci-e connections per card, how can these be xfire/sli compatible
