Nvidia's Single PCB 295 To Be Same Price

nah theyve just been given the go-ahead to start designing one, wouldnt say its for sure yet.

part of me hopes its massivley better than anything nvidia has to offer tho.

In the long run it would be cheaper to run id imagine since there is no need to power a second PCB.

I was under the impression games would have to be able to take advantage of sli to use the 295, but a friend of mine says it runs just like a normal card. Who's right?

Well the idea would be do go with a 256 bit bus.

which would be pointless, ok it might save $5 on the pcb at a cost of performance, to get extra expensive memory thats $20 more than gddr3. The core has a 512mbit controller, they can't just not produce that bit, going 256mbit means wasting part of the already built core.

I'd also imagine as I've suggested before that Nvidia can't get gddr5 yet, what with AMD holding several patents on it, they with whatever mem company it was produced/designed/tested the chips together, amd pumped a lot of money into it and probably have a decent wedge of all stocks exclusively. WHich is genius as it essentially forces Nvidia to use a larger bus decreasing their core yields, size and costs.
