Spec me a 6k hot hatch

Oh i agree with you entirely, build wise you would be hard pushed to find better, reliability is pretty much bomb-proof,they just dont have the same smile factor when hitting the twisty stuff.

Atm the 3 series isnt something I'm interested in, unless it was an old e36 track toy but again that would put me in the same position as to why I'm not getting an mx5.

The Civic Type R is looking, as I expected, to be the front runner. Might try and blag a test drive this afternoon, I know of a few dealers locally with some in :)

I would recommend the Leon Cupra R myself, you should be able to find a nice one for 6K now. It's not a nasty little French biscuit tin like the Clio (sorry guys, but it really is, however fast it is) it's much more comfortable and refined than the CTR, indeed it also does not need absolutely thrashing to get the power out of it either.

I'm a huge fan of the LCR (wanting it to be the next car), but i'd definately choose a CTR to go for a blast in the countryside or around the 'Ring. This is where the CTR really shines.

For everyday usage though, i'd choose the LCR due to it being a bit more comfortable and a bit softer, but still quick enough!

Civic Type R for 5500 then spend 500 and get a dc5 box. Sell your ep3 box to fund fitting costs of DC5 box. EP3 badly needs a diff.

6k for me would be either a Clio or Civic.

Civic could be anything out of an EP3 or an EK9, Clio would be any of the 1x2 range.

screaming EP3 for that budget. comes into its own on a track, watch this :D

CLICKY

practically matches the focus RS!

orrrr

just get a rather nice 98 spec JDM DC2  will own them all at the ring :D
