Oh i agree with you entirely,build wise you would be hard pushed to find better,reliability is pretty much bomb-proof,they just dont have the same smile factor when hitting the twisty stuff.

Atm the 3 series isnt something I'm interested in, unless it was an old e36 track toy but again that would put me in the same position as to why I'm not getting an mx5.

The Civic Type R is looking, as I expected, to be the front runner. Might try and blag a test drive this afternoon, I know of a few dealers locally with some in

I wouldnt pay that for another astra considering what I get for similar money. As much fun as mines been I see them as a cheap practical car, not something I'd spend 6.7k on

Civic Type R for 5500 then spend 500 and get a dc5 box. Sell your ep3 box to fund fitting costs of DC5 box. EP3 badly needs a diff.

6k for me would be either a Clio or Civic.

Civic could be anything out of an EP3 or an EK9, Clio would be any of the 1x2 range.
