Well, Last week i ordered:
Corsair XMS2 4GB DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB).
Via First Class Royal Mail.

I get home from work and check the letter box... Nothing ok fair enough so i check with my neighbour to see if its been delivered there. She says no but she did see s Jiffy Bag half hanging out my letter box as it would not push in all the way due to the not so bendy nature of RAM ;)

Hmm i thought so i check with some more Neighbours in the hope someone picked it up incase it got stolen... none of them have it and i trust my neighbous as they are all old and would think RAM went BAH BAH in the local field.

I should add i have an outdoor letterbox next to my front door and is a closed court which is why the jiffy bag wont go all the way through.

Anyway i put it down to someone stealing it. I phoned Royal mail up and they say it was delivered to the address so its my responsability. I told them technically if its half in the letter box its neither delivered or undelivered. (She didnt like that as she didnt have an answer.

This week i make another purchase. (I love Free Delivery)
Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound
Akasa Fan Filter - 120mm
3 X Akasa Fan Filter

Overclockers send it out. Post man delivers the Jiffy Bag half hanging out the box. and again i get home and no delivery. Again it has been stolen.

where do i stand on this? ive lost £50. and cant order anything else in fear it will be stolen.

I'd want to find out who is stealing to be honest so i'd get a camera directed at my post box and mail something useless in a jiffy bag to myself to catch them on tape.

Speak to your postman.

He shouldnt be leaving parcels sticking out of the letterbox

You have not recieved the goods and as such contact the retailer and inform them that you have not recieved the goods.

That's terrible :( Sorry you lost your stuff, whenever I order anything worth more than a few quid I always use a recorded service/courier, you just can't trust people these days.

I suggest you hang another jiffy bag out your front door, but this time wire it up to the mains.

Disclaimer: I take no responsibility if you choose to do this and end up killing the thief. However I will be glad there will be one less piece of scum on the earth as a result

Thats a good idea. i would need a USB extension cable for my webcam to reach the window ill buy one tuesday. although i live on a court there is a public alley just 20 meteres from my house which can easy se my letter box. its the perfect oppatunity for a snatch and run.

But i still want my £50 or goodsand i believe royal mail have not fully delivered the package in a secure enough manner. and i certainly dont expect OCUK to replace them as they honoured there end.

Don’t phone up, my advice is go to the local sorting office and have a word with the manager this will filter to the postie he/she is not doing the job properly, just go to the post office and get a lost/damaged claim form and claim that way.

On a more serious note...

I'm firmly in the belief that its the postie's responsibility to ensure you get your goods reliably. Just because it isn't recorded doesn't mean they can't knock on your door or use a bit of common sense to ensure you get your item. Leaving things vulnerable to theft is unacceptable (especially if the incident has already been reported) and as such Royal Mail should compensate you for it. However as claims are made by the sender, I suggest you contact OcUK, who by law I'm pretty sure should send it again (might I suggest recorded delivery this time), then file a claim with Royal Mail for a lost parcel.

All you do is ring up OCUK and tell them that you havent received it, it wasnt signed for delivery or anything so as far as your concerned you ordered something and received nothing.
