I see a lot of networks charge you extra for unlimited Wi Fi. Surely, if I have Wi Fi at home and hook the phone up to this then it's free?

So then, why do I pay extra for unlimited wi fi?

Unlimited wi fi normally allows you to connect to the cloud and other wireless hotspots

You can use the wi fi on your mobile at home free connecting to your home broadband but the wifi will only be limited to around your home.

yes its free when you use your own wi-fi

not free when your useing a wifi hot spot

or unless the wifi hot spot is free like the one's in mcdonalds

Its not daft at all, someone might think oh they charge for wifi now, as in your own home.. I no a few mates who thought they did..

They may think it but it is still a little daft to think you'll be billed to use your own wireless router.

not really.
just look at normal broadband, ISP's make out that they will charge you more for having a wifi package!
