Cheapest 5MP Phone

Right girlfriend needs a new phone - #1 priority is camera, #2 is price.

Everything else - memory, touchsreen, wi-fi etc etc matters nothing

Im assuming 5MP would be the best to go as all the 8MP phones are still pretty expensive.

Oh and will most probably be buying 2nd hand from auction site..so don't need a contract etc

The 6220 has an excellent camera, and I imagine that the K850i is at least as good. The G600 is crap though.

Nokia N82 has a good camera. Probly get one for about 100 quid.

if she wants the best camera then get her a SE k810i

beats all the higher MP cameras hands down imo because it has a great lens and amazing flash

It's a slow phone. My wife has it, and it just feels a lot slower than my 6220. The camera is nowhere near as good as the 6220 - less detail and more noise in pictures. The flash is hopeless too. The 6220 is no substitue for a compact digital camera, but it's not meant to be. It is surprisingly good though, and much better than I expected.

The G600 is quite well built though, whereas the 6220 feels like a toy out of a christmas cracker.

There are loads of phones there that you can compare the specs by side-by-side. There are also excellent example photos from mobile cameras, and some shoot outs between various phones of similar specs.

Comparing the N82 with the 6220 you can see the specification similarities and where the N82 is the superior of the two. It is also apparent that the camera is almost certainly identical on both of them when looking at the pictures they produce. They both use the same flash, too.

The N82 does Wifi, so I think you'd be mad not to get it over all the other phones in this thread if you can find a decent one for sale somewhere.
