You would have issues putting that processor into the CPU socket with that motherboard.

You might want a power supply with that as well by the way, and a hard drive - oh and maybe an optical drive? :)

Yes its over budget, but you guys have to admit its a very good spec, for what, a £100 more?

Plus, it's more 'future proof'. Socket 775 is going out, whereas AM3 motherboards will be compatible with the newer AMD CPUs coming out.
 
i would really like to know how long amd are going to be keeping that socket although i do agree it is more future proof, however i dont think the 775 socket cpu's are inferior in anyway whatsoever :D

Well like I said in that thread fungus, he needs £500-600 for a reasonable Quad system. No point getting him a quad with a carp mobo etc.
 
i was just fulfilling his needs and requirements plus me and kenny were having a laugh yesterday as he was way hungover and went to bed early hahaaha
