hi all,

just wondering if it's worth waiting to go as we have free tickets (family of four) to go between now and 2010.

On the advert it says jousting isn't on until May, dithering over whether to go now or wait until the jousting is back on. Is it worth the wait or shall we just bite the bullet?

The Great Siege
10th - 13th April
Experience the truly spectacular sight of Warwick Castle under siege. Up to 300 people divided into two warring factions battle it out to the bitter end.

sounds fun :D but you missed it :(

oh butter my arse, just realised we have missed out on "Experience the truly spectacular sight of Warwick Castle under siege. Up to 300 people divided into two warring factions battle it out to the bitter end."

was between 11th and April... serves me right for being hesistant!

it looked amazing and all the stuff that was on show there like jousting etc looked great. Looked absolutley pakced with stuff to do. However we didnt go in as it cost a lot and we only got to it with only 2 hours reamining before closing time. If you have free tickets then i would say definitley go!

But we got a very nice sneaky peek through the gates :p

i've just missed the best weekend ever though!!! Kids would have loved to see it under siege!

Warwick castle is great. well worth the visit I thought :) it was a fair few years ago now tho. they didn't have jousting when I went, just a few exhibitions like archery etc. was still a great day out.

Been a few times, definitely worth waiting until they've got the jousting and the trebuchet. Cracking day out, our kids love it.

Yep, decided I've not missed out too much really as the jousting will be well worth waiting for, wrote about it and studied at school during history lessons and always wanted to see it in the flesh.... something I've not fulfilled yet!

And another thing is that I see Leicester under siege by up to 300 people every weekend - half is the police and the other a load of drunken yobbos, so I at least know what that's like - if you look at Leicester's nightclubs as mini castles lol.

They charge INSANE amounts for burgers I tell you!!! I think they wanted around £4 for a burger last time I went...

They're a part of the Alton Towers Group so I don't find that too hard to believe!

Extortionate prices at Alton Towers, when we went this year Burger King had replaced Mcdonalds near Alton Towers and the prices were crazy.

But the year before when it was maccy's there instead the prices were the same as maccy's on the high street.

We went to Alton Towers in Feb Half term this year and it was ****, so we complained and I had the ingenuity in asking them if there were anyother attractions owned by the same company that owns Alton that we might be able to get a discount on and we got 4 free tickets to Warwick, cashback!
