I'm in Miami for a couple of days in May. Just wondering

- What you think are the must do activities
- Do we need to rent a car to see Miami or is it all quite doable on foot / public transport?
- Any general advice?

Thanks

Miami is a bit of a heap to be honest. There's some pretty good clubs if you're into that sort of thing, a lot of DJ's head out there for the summer to do... well, DJ related activities presumably.

If you're only there a couple of days i'd just recommend the usual touristy stuff.

I'd get a car for any city in the US tbh. Everything is so spread out and public transport is uh, well, yes. Everything is spread out.

Go to the beach!

I went back in 2004, was a mint experience, stayed in a hotel (just off Ocean Drive) with a rooftop pool overlooking Miami beach. Watching the sunset was awesome. Didn't really do anything touristy there, just drove round, saw the Dolphins stadium and drove around Star Island, got told by security to drive all the way round and not stop (blagged I had took the wrong turning), was surprised I got to get through.

For me, I hated Miami. Full of plastic fake superficial a*holes with a beach that isnt that nice, plus a load of homeless junkies to boot. There was nothing there that made me want to go back.

you were beaten to it by the first reply...

I love that you have to defend your spam abilities. We know you're the king at it. Yantorsen is gone.

DSF is good in florida, although i'd rather head to the keys than miami even for that.

I don't remember much about Miami, except the humidity.

That was in late July, though. Before I went, I thought the D.C. summers were bad. :p

You must visit Disney World!

Miami isnt very good tbh, nice beach though.

I would warn you about going too far into the city away from the tourist areas/beaches. There be gangsters and its very very very rough
