Out of interest how much is Battered Cod and Chips in your area. My preffered chippy for battered cod and chips is £5 with a portion of chips at most chip shops in the area costing £1.30. This is west Midlands.

Don't know about Cod but there is a Chippy in my village that does a large portion of chips that will feed three for £1.20. Surely must take some beating.

East Midlands - Nottingham.

Is about £6.00 nowadays.

Tend to have haddock nowadays though if going to the chippy what with the cod shortage etc.

Humm it was about £4 for fish and chips back in MK (this was for the best one in the area though)

Up in Belfast though, havnt really looked too hard, i think around uni for me its a bit less around £3.50 is my estimate....

Really depends on how close to the sea, supplys of cod and how good the batter is....

Here in sunny, well it is atm, Buckinghamshire my local chippy charges £4.45 for regular sized fish and chips.

About £4 in Buxton (Derbyshire, East Midlands) for a fish and chips, depending where you go. Chips are about £1 for a normal portion, or £1.30-1.50 for a large portion.

I live in Kent and prices for Cod & Chips at my local chippy are;

Small £4.25
Medium £4.50
Large £5

The prices are right for me as it is always a large portion of chips, enough to feed 3 people, and the price difference is only relative to the size of the battered cod where the large one is enough to fill me up for the day.
