321bhp VXR Goes Toe-To-Toe With Audi

Doesnt look that bad I suppose, the stupid shiney fangs on the front look horrid and the scientific calculator button fest looks tacky but it has to have some sort of link to the vectra of past I suppose. The figures sound promising and if a standard 2.0 dirty diseasal can do the 0-60 sprint 2+ seconds quicker than book this could be a Veyron beater :D

As for 0-60, more like now until insolvency for the company. I'd be surprised if this car ever makes production.
 
Looks alright..

The interior is great, the buttons look bad on that pic, but in reality its not something you really notice.

I like it overall... good car.

The quickest 2.0 diesel is about 9secs as said, but it feels slower... so I suspect the 6.9 above has the numbers the wrong way around or the car was being dropped off a cliff
 
Couldn’t VX get sold off and be bought? I don’t know really how it all works but how can a car manufacture that big just shut up shop?
 
I remember reading that you could get a "buy 1 get 1 free" with Vauxhall recently on Vectras (get a free Corsa), if they do go down the chutes, maybe the offer will extend to buy 1 get 2 free of the same type.
At least the VXR8 might be an interesting buy if it's being given away, as per what happened with Rovers.

You really haven't been reading the news. GM have burned their way through something like 70 billion US$ in the last few years.
As for Vauxhall, well GM have stated that they own the factories and intellectual rights to the cars, and frankly I don't see Europe bailing out GM in Europe, not when they can use the money to help VAG et al.

GM are the biggest seller in the US, that doesn't mean they are profitable.

Vauxhall don't have as many problems with excessive worker commitments (and rabid unions) as GM do, but they do have problems.
 
I don't know why, but I just can't see Vauxhall/Opel going anywhere despite their situation. But then again, I imagine many people said that about Woolworths, so time will tell.
