Well after recently learning Legend of Mir 2 shut down, I was rather gutted actually. First MMORPG for me and it was amazing, so many good memories, and 2 years of my teens sucked away by it, but it was brilliant

Anyway I was searching around for Mir stuff for a trip down memory lane, when I saw this

Legend Of Mir 3 to be released globally

This time, being hosted by Wemade! For anyone who played Mir 2 and frequented the forums will remember the whole "Give the database to Wemade" debate, that was about 7 years ago though lol

I for one will definitely be checking this out, even if it's just to see if any of the old crowd do the same

Anyone else be interested in this?
 
There was a channel on Sky years and years ago which used to do a program on Legend of Mir and Myth of Soma, I was playing UO at the time so didn't get round to trying them but they always looked interesting. Might be tempted to give it a go

And the guy who did it (Carl) was quality, he had a character who was in our guild for ages and we weren't allowed to tell anyone.

Meant we all got on the show loads :D
 
amazing game i will prob pick up and play again =] for definate was my first online game apart from mohaa, use to play a war and then moved to mir3 played on a few bike chars and bowled around BW storage
 
I played The Myth of Soma for years, it was my first mmorpg and got me hooked on pc gaming. I also played mir3 for about a year. I'll definitely be giving this a go.
 
Another one from the Soma camp here! Brilliant game, my first MMO. I used to love going exploring with my mate. My char sucked though. Plenty mana but I hated the melee so I had sucky HP. :)
 
Played Mir2 and deffo remember Carl. Think it was the phoenix server this happened on but Game Network (who hosted on behalf of wemade) didn't change the emergency GM password that comes as default on the server so when the server files got leaked and this was discovered it was abused on live servers. Cue Zumataurus running around Wooma Temple and Dragon Slayer Swords being spawned all over the place.

Good times though, spent half my time in STB7 waiting for the real white boars to spawn!

Quality game but think it would kinda pale to todays offerings.
 
This is a game quite close to my heart.

My first MMORPG...played it in my early teens on my trust 56k connection...loved it at the time. I had a Taoist and a Wizard! Oh and the show on Game network was awesome!

I think my guild was Distant Souls if anyone remembers them?
 
lol i remember the gay advert on that crap sky channel :D IT looked crap, but if u guys say so, then maybe it wernt so bad after all :)
 
Didn't realise there were so many ex players on here.

My character on dragon was called FrOzEnFiReZ and I played him for quite a while but never seemed to get past level 29 :(

Anyone remember all the events and the immense lag? The first ever lord event was a cracker if you could stay lag free. I bagged a Judgement Mace, Power Ring and Wooma Horn.

Who was your char on soma? I remember talking to a few people from Bolton on soma in my time. I think puttputt and scholesy were from there and a few others.
 
i used to play Mir2 many moons ago, then moved to Mir3 which i thought had also shut down? thought they where great games. Also was a fan of ST7f

played on Dragon server, u can guess my character name. :p
 
Another Mir2 veteran here. Played it on and off for 4 or 5 years. Got fed up of the endless grind around lvl 48 and only logged on for mass PVP and to kill the huge Mir Dragon (and the resulting war that would happen with multiple guilds trying to do the same thing)

Wont be trying Mir 3 as im currently loving AoC too much and TBH Mir no longer holds a candle to modern MMO's
 
They have shut down Mir3 that Game Network was running

This will be starting from scratch with Wemade who are a far better company so I'll be checking it out

I was TubzTheGreat on Dragon Server, was in Apex guild, we pwned so bad to be honest, we had Sabuk Wall for ages at one point
