Yes i had to do it....

So many bugs with windows 7 with games... and IE 8. cant believe i feel vista is more stable lol

The deal breaker for me was the constant BSODs from unplugging my Xbox controller. Thats with all builds it seems. As my boy is often pinching mine when his battery is flat in his wireless ones I have to stay in Vista. Otherwise its not too bad for an early RC.

ive not had one bsod since i installed it build 7000, on either my pc or my laptop. i use a 360 pad on my pc as well :( still, its to be expected unfortunately, beta's are far from infallable.

couldnt tell you about IE8, i see no reason to bother with it:)

I hope you reported the bugs :)

^^ Aye this is true

Some will be happy using a beta version.
Others wouldnt touch a MS OS until the first service pack is released.

I'm definetly the latter.

Removing a joypad is capable of crashing the entire system?
That's pretty terrible system design, beta or not.

It shouldn't really as all drivers should be in usermode, but I don't know what the actual cause is so it's hard to see whether your comment is valid or not.

I've got Win7 7000build 64bit on desktop, playing games and no probs so far:) Don't use IE.

On the laptop running Vista 64bit, oh how slow it is compared to Win7:mad:

Originally had 7000 build which was great, fast everything worked etc, upgraded to 7068 after hearing good things and it is (for me) a lot slower and buggyer

might go find 7077, anyone had major problems with it?

I've had Windows 7 running, not consecutively, for about 5 weeks and funnily enough the only problems I've encountered so far aren't Microsoft related, firstly with Punkbuster, and secondly the rather buggy nVidia BETA drivers which gave me frequent BSODs, other than that I think it's a fabulous OS.
