Advice please guys. I usually go to the gym 3 times a week and do cardio and weights.
Ive recently moved to Thailand and since going to the gym over here Im finding that my stamina level has dropped and I cant work out why.
e.g. I will do a range of exercises using a pair of 35kg dumbells, but now Im struggling with 25-30kg dumbells. This is similar for other weight training exercises including bench press.
Im working longer hours than I was in the UK and going to the gym at about 7ish now instead of 5pm back home. Also its stupidly hot out here so Im thinking maybe that has something to do with it?

I'm just guessing here but I'm thinking it could also be a difference in altitude. Do you like noticeably higher above sea level than you used to?

Humidity and heat would be my first guess.

Since I've moved to Australia I've found it a lot harder to train on hot humid days.

Nope, if anything Im lower because Im literally next to the sea.

Im eating less as Im trying to cut some weight. Well, eating less junk and sticking to a regular meal pattern.
Im also trying to drink as much water as possible but its so easy to get dehydrated out here.
I usually do 3 sets of 10 or 12 and I can barely manage 2 sets now.

How long do you go without eating before a workout?
How many litres of water are you drinking a day?
What is your current calorie intake?
How many times a day do you eat and at what times?

Ant

Its the heat and humidity. In hot/humid environments there is quite significantly less oxygen closer to the ground as oxygen doesn't like heat, i've been told its one reason why it "smells" fresher after rain, because its lowered the temperature drastically enough for you to notice a difference.

All my lifting gains are between October and April, summer i'm lucky to add an extra 5kg onto a bar

I just can't train in the morning at all, I tried it for a while and was weak as a kitten. Conversely, I can happily train like a madman up until midnight. We're all different, I'd try training in the evning again!
