You need the latest patch for whichever expansion pack / base game you have installed. I think they might have been mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread, otherwise hunt around. There are different versions for UK/US versions of the game, so check which you've got. With the patch it fortunately seems to work fine on both Vista and XP.

Sorry if this is already posted (but being lazy)!!

Has anyone got this to work on Vista? I have the 64 bit one and every time I start it the game just crashes to desktop!!

I purchased the vista compatible game (so more than likely im doing somin wrong)

RCT2 works fine on Vista here. I can't recall doing anything special to get it to run. I run it in XPSP2 compatibility mode and thats it.

I have it on my 64x vista and it runs fine. I was just dissapointed I could not enlarge the screen to 1680x1050 on the game :(

Oh well it is a fun game to play but it's real easy to beat the senarios with nothing but go karts and motion sims. :p

btw- I like to use the do not enter signs to create service pathways for maintenence to quickly go from ride to ride because they ignore the do not enter signs. I create dirt pathways behind the rides and put wood fencing to block it from the customers just like in real parks. :D

nice..never thought of that myself..just kept hiring more and more of them :D

EDIT:
If Chuck Norris wrote a computer game, it'd be almost as good as RCT2.

-Intensity: 133.7 (Chuck Norris)

It's playable but going 3d they lost a lot of the charm of the original game, but its good as well just not so close to perfection ;)

I give in and have dusted off my copy, I haven't played this game for years I had so much fun with it.

Best alert the cleaners as it is time for some gut chucking coasters!

is rct 3 that bad? I wnt some rct goodness

YES :p

well ok its all about gameplay, if you prefer the control of RCT 1 & 2 then you wont like RCT3, but if you like 'full' 3D graphics then give RCT 3 a go :D

(building coasters is a lot easier on the old ones)

I must have lost over 5 years of my life playing RCT1/2.

It shows that graphics is not everything in a game.

Going to reinstall this when i get home from work tonight!

BRING ON RCT4!

I lost a lot of my childhood to RCT1 and the addon loopy landscapes!

I have the urge to get back to it, however i only have a laptop, would RCT2 work fine on a laptop? (Can't remember the specs,i think its a 1.8dual core with a nvidia 7400)

Is it better than RCT1 and RCT3?
